Where should you set up shop?

Hey Guys,
During J-Block Taryn and I discussed a little bit about where we would put our factory. My idea was Ixtapa which is a very high tourist-y town and we seemed to dismiss that idea. Taryn's cousin I believe has done a lot of work and research about Tiajauna (sp.) and she said that this would be a great place to set up shop. What do you guys think?

Hey all!
I really like the idea of Tijuana, because it seems like all the things we want:
-It has a really gigantic tourist market
-It also has a really really gigantic impoverished area. For instance, I randomly know that 80% of people don't have access to clean water.
-It also has a lot of factories already, so we can build on facts from those.
Here's a couple of websites to check out more about Tijuana:
http://www.tijuana.com/en/index.html = touristy stuff
http://www.tijuana.gob.mx/ = a really good site but it's in Spanish... but Google can translate it for you.
http://www.hellotijuana.com/crime.cfm = about crime in Tijuana
http://www.worldviewcities.org/tijuana/futureless.html = a really random but nonetheless interesting thing about dystopias and Tijuana (now I'm just procrastinating :))
http://www.drclas.harvard.edu/revista/articles/view/210 = cool article about poverty and Tijuana
And, of course, you can check out the Wikipedia article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tijuana) but there are clearly some errors there (ranks higher than Paris in tourism? I think not). As well as the fact that OF COURSE WE WOULD NEVER USE WIKIPEDIA AS A SOURCE.
But I also know ABSOLUTELY nothing about Ixtapa-- so I will look a little bit more into that as well.
You guys are amazing!
Much love,
Taryn

Hey guys!
Here's a really cool thing I just found on the Proctor and Gamble website. (I didn't even MEAN to be researching-- I typed in www.beautiful.com and it REDIRECTED ME! The higher powers want me to do MGC work!!) Anyway, here is the link. http://www.pg.com/company/our_commitment/social_responsibility.jhtml
Interesting, very interesting....

Remember you NEED to choose the location of your factory (as a large group) as well as an ecosystem surrounding the factory (you can do this with your partners) as well as a map of the region, and a description of the materials that make up the project. B block: I see you guys tomorrow so you need to have this information by then in order to proceed with the project!!! -

hey everyone its greg. so my computer's been acting really weird lately so this is the first internet time if really had. i read all your comments and i agree with tiajuana. i've never been there personally, but while in mexico, i did have a chance to talk to a lot of people (including both tourist and people who live in mexico) and it came up in conversation a lot.(we'll talk more about it in bio) it is very touristy and i guess this is both good and bad.
good because it get's our company's name out there.
bad because if working conditions are not up to par, it's not like it is in a remote area. people are bound to find out sooner rather than later.
hope this was helpful.
